Modern Health Magazine: Why is America experiencing such a dramatic increase in chronic illness in the last few decades?

Wendy Sinclair: Modern lifestyle tends to keep us from doing the 5 things that keep the Systemic Functions of the body healthy. Our Systemic Functions determine the health of all the cells, tissues and organs.

Modern Health Magazine: What are the Systemic Functions of the body?

Wendy Sinclair: The Bloodstream (blood quality and circulation), the Neurological Function, and Vitality Function. They are the system-wide functions that energize, monitor, control, feed, clean and repair the tissues and protect the body from infection.

Modern Health Magazine: In your book you say that Systemic weakness always precedes local symptoms. Why is that?

Russ Sinclair: All the cells, tissues and organs are completely dependent on the Three Systemic Functions to be fed, cleaned and protected from infection. Any weakness in Systemic Function starts weaknesses in local tissues throughout the body, which has to lead to symptoms and illness eventually.

Wendy Sinclair: Early on, tissues and organs don't react drastically (as in a heart attack, stroke, etc.), they just don't perform quite up to par. We call that subfunctioning, and it produces minor symptoms. But the worse the subfunction, the worse the symptoms. It's impossible to predict which organs or tissues will start to break down first, because everyone's body is different, but something will go wrong eventually.

Modern Health Magazine: How can we prevent chronic symptoms from developing?

Wendy Sinclair: We should learn how to improve the health of the Three Systemic Functions instead of waiting for serious symptoms to develop. If symptoms do develop, they need to be treated. But we should still focus on improving our Systemic Health as the long term solution.

Russ Sinclair: For example, if we improve blood quality (more oxygen, nutrients, hormones, enzymes, etc.), and blood circulation, the cells and tissues are fed and cleaned more effectively, which improves how all the local tissues and organs operate.

Modern Health Magazine: How do you suggest people improve their Systemic Health?

Wendy Sinclair: Our health habits determine our Systemic Health (and the development or prevention of symptoms) more than any other factors. As Wendy mentioned, there are 5 things we need to address: moderate exercise, rest, nourishment, fasting and positive emotional habits. The problem is, people don't have solid information about how to do these things comfortablly and safely.

Modern Health Magazine: And that's what your home study course is for?

Russ Sinclair: Yes. The Systemic Health Home Study Course teaches basic principles and techniques that help people exercise, sleep, fast and detox in a comfortable, safe way.

Wendy Sinclair: A great place to start is Russ' book, "An Introduction To Systemic Health - Basic Principles of Health Preservation." It's the introduction to the Systemic Health Home Study Course. It's great for people who want to understand what the body needs to be healthy, the causes of chronic illnesses and how to prevent them or overcome them. It's a brief but thorough explanation of the principles of Systemic Health.

Modern Health Magazine: My impression after reading your introductory book is that it answers health questions I've always wondered about, but were never satisfactorily answered. Your book does that in a clear and useful way. Congratulations! I look forward to studying the entire Systemic Health Course.
